WASHINGTON –
On Sunday, April 14, at 11:00 a.m., outgoing Command Chief Warrant Officer 5 Michael R. Jewett will relinquish responsibility to Chief Warrant Officer 4 Bernard L. Aguon during a change of responsibility ceremony to be held at the District of Columbia National Guard’s Joint Force Headquarters.
CW5 Jewett served as the top Army Warrant Officer advisor to the D.C. National Guard’s Commanding General, the Adjutant General, and Land Component Commander since 2017. CW5 Jewett devoted over 35 years of service to our Nation, culminating his service as the fifth Command Chief. He is also a proven Army Aviator who has served in various key leadership roles, to include service at the national level as a Master Army Aviator with over 5,000 flight hours.
CW4 Bernard L. Aguon will assume the duties of the Command Chief Warrant Officer for the D.C. Army National Guard. CW4 Aguon comes from the Guam National Guard, serving on Title 10 in the Army National Guard Directorate (G1). A veteran of 33 years and Guam native, he will serve as the sixth Command Chief Warrant Officer for the D.C. National Guard. Most recently, he served as the Senior Personnel Advisor assigned to the Human Resource Information Systems Division, National Guard Bureau.
“The Warrant Officer is our Army’s most specialized skilled expert responsible for being technically and tactically proficient able to provide leadership and training in their respective functional areas,” CW4 Aguon said. “As the primary advisor to commanders at all levels, Warrant Officers are counted on to provide solutions to complex problems. My goal is to support all Warrant Officers in the D.C. Army National Guard with the education and training they need to continue being that skilled expert advisor commanders and Soldiers need to successfully accomplish their mission.”
CW4 Aguon’s awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, Combat Action Badge, Army Staff Identification Badge, Basic Recruiter Badge.
He is a graduate of the Warrant Officer Senior Service Education Course, Adjutant General Warrant Officer Advanced Course, General Construction Equipment Operators Course, and holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Liberty University.
