The Department of Defense (DoD) provides members of the Uniformed Services with a distinct ID card identifying them as active duty, Guard, Reserve, or retired members and authorizing them to receive Uniformed Services' benefits. The DoD also issues members' eligible family members and other eligible individuals a distinct ID card authorizing them to receive Uniformed Services' benefits and privileges.

Please note:

• ID cards can be renewed 90 days prior to expiration. 
• Two forms of identification will "always" be required and one must contain a photo. Categories below list the required documents for identification card issuance.

 What is considered an acceptable form of identification?

• Marriage certificates
• Birth certificates
• Valid drivers license
• Social Security card
• US official passport
• Divorce decree
• State ID cards
• VA ID cards

Photo and expiration date is required on at least one identification document. Expired military ID cards are not considered a form of identification.
