The D.C. National Guard Military Equal Opportunity/Equal Employment Opportunity (MEO/EEO) office oversees the Military and Civilian Equal Opportunity programs.The purpose MEO/EEO office is to ensure all Soldiers and Airmen have equal opportunity and fair treatment regardless of race, gender, religion, national origin, or color and to assist the DCANG Military Equal Opportunity Program and DCARNG HR-EO as necessary.

The MEO/EEO office also coordinates the Reasonable Accommodation process for federal employees (Title 32 and Title 5) seeking modification to their work environment or the way their work tasks are typically completed.  Please select the links below for more information regarding the MEO program and complaint process; theEEEO and complaint system; and the Reasonable Accommodation program and process.

The MEO program is designed to promote an environment free from personal, social, or institutional barriers that prevent Service members from rising to the highest level of responsibility possible. The DCNG MEO program stresses that all Airmen and Soldiers shall be evaluated only on individual merit, fitness, and capability. Unlawful discrimination against individuals or groups based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin is contrary to good order and discipline.  Unlawful discrimination and harassment (to include sexual harassment) is counterproductive to combat readiness, mission accomplishment and shall not be condoned. 

Additionally, Airmen and Soldiers are encouraged use the chain of command as the primary and preferred channel to identify and correct unlawful discriminatory practices; process and resolve complaints of unlawful discrimination, including sexual harassment. Any Airman or Solider who believes they have experienced harassment (to include sexual harassment) and/or discrimination are equally encouraged to report the incident to an Equal Opportunity professional (Wing Equal Opportunity Staff, Brigade Equal Opportunity Advisor, or State Equal Employment Office Staff) within 180 days of incident or knowledge of such actions occurring. 

Complaint Process:  Any member desiring to file an Informal Request for Resolution (IRR) will need to coordinate with an Equal Opportunity professional to complete a National Guard Form 333 to initiate a MEO complaint.  Upon completion of the form, the EO professional will refer the concerns to the lowest level of command for resolution within 180 days.  If the complaint is not able to be resolved in a 180 days by the command, the filing member will have the opportunity to file a Formal Request for Resolution (FRR) through the SEEO.
