WASHINGTON, DC - Brig. Gen. Robert D. Bowie retired after 34 years of service in a ceremony officiated by Lt. Gen. Michael A. Loh, Director, Air National Guard, on Joint Base Andrews, Saturday, Aug. 5, 2023. A beloved active and Guard officer, Bowie's career and personal impact were celebrated by a large and enthusiastic crowd. His final assignment was Special Assistant to the DANG for the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force (Installations, Environment and Energy). In a career filled with command positions, Bowie also served in leaderships roles for four presidential inaugurations.
