MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica - DCNG Commanding General attends Carribean Nations Security Conference (CASEC) 2023 in Jamaica. Senior U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) leaders, including U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) commander and the D.C. National Guard (DCNG) commanding general, and the deputy prime minister of DCNG's state partner, Jamaica (Jamaica Defence Force), discuss security cooperation and future initiatives during the Carribean Nations Security Conference (#CANSEC23) in Jamaica. The DCNG and Jamaica have been state partners since 1999.

U.S. Soldiers from the Alabama Army National Guard arrive at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, to support the Joint Task Force–District of Columbia’s security mission in Southeast D.C. with foot patrols and medic support. About 2,300 National Guard members are supporting the D.C. Safe and Beautiful mission providing critical support to the D.C.
