WASHINGTON, D.C. - The commanding general of the District of Columbia National Guard (DCNG), Maj. Gen. Sherrie L. McCandless, swears in the new DCNG inspector general (IG), Lt. Col. Christopher Mayo, April 27, 2023. The role of the IG is to determine and report on the economy, efficiency, discipline, morale, esprit de corps, readiness, and resources of the command.
