D.C. Army National Guard (DCARNG) members, including the commander and command sergeant major, Brig. Gen. Leland Blanchard and Command Sgt. Maj. Williamson, departed for a staff ride in France 105 years to the day after the 372nd arrived to fight in the “Great War.” The training event focused on the history of DCARNG units that served in World War I, including the 372nd Infantry Regiment. The staff ride also incorporated key lessons in Army doctrine and leadership, a view of the 372nd memorial and concluded with a solemn visit to the Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery to honor the fallen.

U.S. Soldiers from the Alabama Army National Guard arrive at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, to support the Joint Task Force–District of Columbia’s security mission in Southeast D.C. with foot patrols and medic support. About 2,300 National Guard members are supporting the D.C. Safe and Beautiful mission providing critical support to the D.C.
