WASHINGTON - ✨️SPOTLIGHT✨️ Staff Sgt. Jermaine Denee Bowens Recruiting and Retention Battalion D.C. Army National Guard "This observance makes me feel powerful and unique. I had people tell me the Army was not for women, especially dainty women like me. Knowing that women, especially African American women that were before me, heard this same discouragement made me push even harder while training to ensure I achieved success. As I advance in my military career, it makes me speak and act confidently knowing that the military was for me." We celebrate #WomensHistoryMonth!

U.S. Soldiers from the Alabama Army National Guard arrive at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, to support the Joint Task Force–District of Columbia’s security mission in Southeast D.C. with foot patrols and medic support. About 2,300 National Guard members are supporting the D.C. Safe and Beautiful mission providing critical support to the D.C.
