WASHINGTON - The Adjutant General of the District of Columbia National Guard, Aaron R. Dean II, and Senior Enlisted Leader, Ronald L. Smith, visit fellow Capital Guardians at traffic control points near the Africa Leaders Summit. The Guardsmen are assisting Washington Metropolitan Police Dept. with traffic control teams using vehicles as barriers in and around the summit. This includes assisting police with street closures at multiple intersections to provide safety at pedestrian areas. Capital Guardians are also supporting DC Fire And EMS with its trained Civil Support Team (CST) personnel. The CST is supporting all hazards response and positioned at several checkpoints.
