The National Guard State Partnership Program builds friendship, trust and affords military to military engagements between state national guards and nations across the globe. CapitalGuardians partners, Burkinabe civil and armed forces, visited the D.C. National Guard Armory, during their National Capital Region Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief Subject Matter Expert Exchange, September 16, 2022. The visit exposed effective emergency and joint operations center capabilities and activities that can be implemented in Burkina Faso's National Civil Protection Agency. Among the distinguished visitors were Colonel Major Lazare Yago, director general, National Civil Protection Agency; Lieutenant Colonel Haidara Tabore, deputy commander, National Fire Fighters Brigade and Operations Officer, National Civil Protection Agency; Lieutenant Colonel Abdoul Semde, logistics officer, National Military Headquarters; and Lieutenant Colonel Leonid Diabri, gendarmerie commander, 3rd Military Region – National Capital.

U.S. Soldiers from the Alabama Army National Guard arrive at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, to support the Joint Task Force–District of Columbia’s security mission in Southeast D.C. with foot patrols and medic support. About 2,300 National Guard members are supporting the D.C. Safe and Beautiful mission providing critical support to the D.C.
