Command Sergeant Major James Perrault was born in Stuttgart, Germany. He enlisted in the Massachusetts Army National Guard on June 26, 1993, and completed Basic Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. He then went on to Advanced Individual Training at Fort Lee, Virginia. He began his career as a 77F Petroleum Supply Specialist, joining the 181st Infantry Company, Worcester, MA. Later in CSM Perrault’s career he became an 88M attending the Motor Transporter Course assigned to the 1166th Transportation Company in Ware, MA He served in numerous roles from wheeled vehicle driver to Squad Leader.
He was deployed to Ft. Bragg, North Carolina in 2003 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and then again in 2010 to Kuwait with 1166th HET Company as a platoon Sergeant and Acting First Sergeant in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn.
