Chief Master Sergeant JON D. WILCOX

Command Chief, 113th Wing

Chief Master Sergeant Jon D. Wilcox is the Command Chief of the 113th Wing, District of Columbia Air National Guard, Joint Base Andrews, Maryland. He is the Senior Enlisted Leader and principal advisor to the Commander on all matters regarding readiness, morale, and welfare of the enlisted force of the wing.

A native of California, Chief Wilcox began his distinguished Air Force career in April 2004, enlisting in the Regular Air Force. From the outset, his unwavering commitment and expertise have left an enduring legacy across a variety of roles and missions. Chief Wilcox’s early assignments in Financial Management demonstrated his exceptional skill and dedication, with significant contributions at Minot AFB, North Dakota, and Portland IAP, Oregon. His service extended internationally when he served as a Third Country National Escort at Ali Base, Iraq, showcasing his adaptability and dedication in a deployed environment. As a seasoned recruiter, Chief Wilcox played a vital role in building the Air National Guard’s talent pool, with recruitment efforts spanning Portland and Grants Pass, Oregon, as well as Syracuse, New York. His ability to inspire and mentor others laid the foundation for future generations of Airmen. Transitioning into Intelligence, Chief Wilcox’s career reflects his strategic acumen and operational excellence. He held pivotal assignments at the Eastern Air Defense Sector in Rome, New York; United States Central Command (CENTCOM) at MacDill AFB, Florida; and United States Naval Forces Central Command (NAVCENT) in Bahrain. His global impact extended to March ARB, California; Lackland AFB, Texas; and Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, where he served in key leadership roles. Within the Intelligence community, Chief Wilcox’s contributions were both diverse and impactful. He served as Intelligence NCOIC, Iran Air and Air Defense Analyst, Training Flight Chief, Innovations and Exercise Flight Chief, and Intelligence Superintendent. Notably, he served as the CENTCOM Liaison Officer (LNO) to NAVCENT, marking a historic milestone in his illustrious career.

Chief Wilcox's service during Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Noble Eagle, and Operation Inherent Resolve further underscores his commitment to safeguarding the nation's interests. Academically accomplished, Chief Wilcox's pursuit of knowledge shines through with a master’s degree in Sports and Health Science, a bachelor's degree in Intelligence Studies, and an impressive trio of associate degrees encompassing Intelligence Studies, Human Resource Management, and Financial Management. Prior to assuming his current position, the Chief was the Senior Enlisted Leader for the 113th Operations Group, Joint Base Andrews, Maryland.
