Brigadier General Natasha S. Taylor

Director of the Joint Staff, District of Columbia National Guard

Brig. Gen. Natasha S. Taylor is the Director, Joint Staff, Joint Force Headquarters, District of Columbia National Guard, Washington D.C. In this role, she is responsible for overseeing and managing the development, execution, and evaluation of joint staff programs and policies pertaining to the command, control, and operation of joint functions within the District of Columbia Army and District of Columbia Air National Guard. She manages readiness of joint defense programs to include the Civil Support Team, Homeland Response Force, State Partnership Program, Counter Drug Task Force, and Defense Support to Civil Authorities.

Brig. Gen. Taylor enlisted in the United States Air Force in 2000 and received her commission in 2005 as a distinguished graduate from Officer Training School, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama. She has held several command and staff positions across three major commands. Her command tours include the 113th Logistics Readiness Squadron, and the 113th Mission Support Group at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland. She served at Headquarters Air Force as the Executive Officer to the Deputy Director, Air National Guard and Air National Guard Advisor to the Director for Logistics, Joint Staff, Arlington, Virginia.

Prior to her current assignment, Brig. Gen. Taylor served as the Deputy Wing Commander, 113th Wing, Joint Base Andrews, Maryland. She was the primary advisor to the Wing Commander on the command, control, and oversight of two flying organizations, an air sovereignty detachment and several supporting units to include the 121st Fighter Squadron and 201st Airlift Squadron. The 121st is responsible for F-16C missions including overseas combat operations and the 24/7 National Capital Region Aerospace Control Alert duty and the 201st utilizes the C-40 to execute worldwide special air missions for cabinet members, Congress, and other senior military leaders.
