Through times of peace and times of war, the D.C. National Guard has honored its commitments to the nation and the District of Columbia. The D.C. National Guard has been there from the fields of France and the beaches of Normandy to the skies above D.C. on 9/11, and protection of the U.S. Capitol. We remain ready and vigilant.
As you deploy, you carry with you over 200 years of D.C. National Guard history and over 384 years of National Guard history. When conducting operations, recall that history and tradition for inspiration though often it is the case that your fellow airmen, family and friends that will inspire you the most.
To honor all of them, keep those things close, which we hold dear: the Warrior Ethos, the Airmen's Creed, and the Air Force core values: Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence in All We Do. We expect that from you each and every day.
Our airmen don't answer the call alone. Family members, friends and loved ones, together, share this commitment with them. When airmen answer the call to the country, we all sacrifice.
Thank you, please stay safe, and we look forward to welcoming you safely home.
