The District of Columbia National Guard (DCNG) family readiness team hosted a holiday celebration where DCNG members and their families had breakfast with Santa, visited the Grinch, received gifts, and participated in holiday games and festivities. Brig. Gen. Aaron R. Dean, adjutant general, DCNG, assisted with gift distribution, while Col. Blanchard, land component commander; Command Sgt. Maj. Ronald Smith, senior enlisted leader, and Command Sgt. Maj. Octavia Williamson, land component command sergeant major, assisted with setup and food service.

U.S. Soldiers from the Alabama Army National Guard arrive at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, to support the Joint Task Force–District of Columbia’s security mission in Southeast D.C. with foot patrols and medic support. About 2,300 National Guard members are supporting the D.C. Safe and Beautiful mission providing critical support to the D.C.
