2022 Holiday message from DCNG Commanding General and Command Senior Enlisted Leader

By DCNG Public Affairs

WASHINGTON - Season's Greetings, Soldiers and Airmen of the District of Columbia National Guard:

As we wrap up another busy and successful year, we want to take a moment to wish you a safe holiday season full of warmth and cheer with your friends and families.

We recognize how hard this team works – from the Soldiers and Airmen who carry out the mission full-time, to our citizen Guard members, and our outstanding civilian staff members…
We thank you.

The holidays can also be a difficult time for some, so take time to reach out to a friend or Battle Buddy and check in with your teammates. And if the season is difficult for you, know that you have a support network in our D.C. National Guard family – your teammates, chaplains, family readiness, and us.

The D.C. National Guard has a unique mission and it can feel like we work around the clock. Still, our team is not possible without the most important asset – our people, you. Please take time for yourself this holiday season to hit pause, slow down and to celebrate with your families and friends.
Happy Holidays!

Maj. Gen. Sherrie L. McCandless, Commanding General
Command Sgt. Maj. Ronald L. Smith, Jr. Command Senior Enlisted Leader
